    1. I'm not sure why I picked this book up other than I wanted to read something by a Colorado author for the library summer reading program. While it has some of the characteristics of a real "picture book" with only a few words for small children to read, pictures and the alphabet, it is more than that. On each page there are things about Colorado that older students and even adults would enjoy. Things like the reason for the colors in the state flag, that the largest silver nugget ever found was [...]

    2. This isn't a book to use with young children. Maybe older kids? However, if I were to use this in a Colorado classroom, I'd have the kids make their own book. Working in groups, the kids could brainstorm possibilities for each letter, thus sharing ideas and learning from each other. From there I didn't care for the art. I just convinced myself that I don't need to keep this book.

    3. This was a gift from my great uncle who lives in Colorado. Every letter talks about what is unique about the state - lots of mountains and wilderness! We will have to go visit, and we will also have to get more of the states in this series so we can learn more!

    4. This book is filled with information about Colorado. It is well-suited to intermediate grade students. The alphabet format assists with the recall of information. Beautiful illustrations.
