    1. This is the finale of the series and it ended with a bang. I pretty much figured out who this other very strong power (different Power from the last book) was from the very beginning. And I made the correct guess. I loved the ending of this series, so much more than the last book. This conclusion redeemed the previous book. I felt it was justifiable and fitting retribution, but I don't want to give it away. This is a well-written series and I highly recommend it to the ages 14 and up. The Twilig [...]

    2. 1. I like the dynamic of the group minus Elena.2. I think this is Damon's best book. He gets the most screen time and we get to see a touch—just a touch—of sensitivity.3. Stefan gets a little more ruthless in this book. That's hot. But he's also the most insufferable here, which negates the added hotness.

    3. In my reviews thus far for The Vampire Diaries, I've neglected to mention how undeniably spooky they can get. Especially if read at night, in the dark. And Dark Reunion only upped the fright factor. I didn’t know what to expect without Elena around full-time, but Bonnie took up the reins expertly, even if she was a little scream-y. As did Matt, who I'm happy to see moving on, and steely Meredith. The Salvatores also filled in nicely (though you can never have enough Damon, in my humble opinion [...]

    5. Even with distractions, I read this book in about 4 hours. It was totally awesome. I was thinking that the ending would be another one that I'd be totally dissatisfied with(*cough cough* "Pearl of the Soul of the World" from the 'Dark Angel Trilogy' *cough cough*), but it's refreshing to see that love can WIN! Here's a spoiler though. I just wonder, is Elena a vampire still or is she human at the end. And did everybody end up seeing her goodies? That's what it seemed like when they kept talking [...]

    6. Ok, so two words MUCH BETTER! Haha. After reading the last Vampire Diaries book, I wasn't sure that I wanted to continue with this series. It was frustrating me for a few reasons. However, I am VERY happy that I stuck with it and have now read this book. Wow!First off, Elena is finally showing an admirable side to her. If you have read my reviews on the other books, you know that I am not too fond of her character. This goes for the TV show as well. But, this was much better. She is finally turn [...]

    8. Oh c'mon! First 100 pages are boring, and other 25 are stupid! :S And at the end even Elena is aliveoh please, give me a break! -.-'

    9. OMG! This made me cry. Stefan's love for Elena was so deep, I guess no one can understand that. But still mystery is that how will Elena falls for Damon?

    10. Somehow Smith found it necessary to impart a fourth book on the reading public (remember that tag line on the cover of the last book? Guess that was a lie). I read online that this series was originally supposed to be a trilogy, and with the death of the protagonist from the first 3 books (final death, not "transformation into vampire" death) at the end of the last book, I could see how it would seen pretty definite that that was the end. Apparently L.J. Smith could not leave well enough alone a [...]

    11. I will begin by saying: No, I do not watch the T.V. show, nor am I at all interested in it.I am not an avid "boob-tuber."Back to the Vampire Diaries series review: I feel in love with these books many years ago when I was still in high school. I am now 29 years old and to this day I feel the fondness with which I still remember the ending to this series and have absolutely loved it.I have not read the semi-recent revival books that L.J. Smith has written. I think she is a talented author, but th [...]

    12. 1 for Stefan. 1 for Damon, Matt and Meredith. It was all Bonnie and Stefan. Though I am happy for the later one, (he finally *somewhat* acted like a hero) Bonnie was annoying. She had always been. The writer had tried to replace her with Elena maybe. Or maybe the book was written in her honor. Anyhoo, she never deserved this much attention. The only thing she did was behaving like what in Stefan's case was a typical stupid human having her eyes all the time on Damon and a little bit on Stefan and [...]

    13. Ok-since I have already reviewed previous books in this series, I will keep this brief. What I liked: Bonnie's POV on this story. It was a nice changed from Elena and gave us deeper insight to another character. I still like the pace the the series for a quick read. What I did not care for: Still a lack of character depth and writing style could use more detail for the age group. The writing style is for that of an elementary child. Not a teenager. I wish authors would challenge our youth more! Al [...]

    14. This only gets a 3 because I enjoyed how it ended. The TV series is defiantly better, I really didn't like how the characters where portrayed in these books, other than Damon and Bonnie everybody else was so different from the TV series and honestly the TV show made sooo many improvements 😂

    15. Could read without dropping it but not interesting either Reading this book reminded me again how much better the TV show is compared to the books

    17. Re-reading this series as an adult, I was a little less enamored of it than I had been as a teen. But, it was never my favorite L.J. Smith series, anyway.I am convinced that, were these characters real and I had to deal with them in my high school, I would have despised our series heroine, Elena, and steered clear of her group of minions. Let's face it, though, we don't read books for the sake of comparisons to reality. At least, not vampire books. So, even though Elena is not remotely likeable, [...]

    18. I was introduced to the Vampire Diaries world by chatting with some friends of mine. I soon watched the TV-Series (both 1st and 2nd season) even before reading the books. Maybe it was a mistake because the TV-Series is wonderful, it immediately got my attention and I became addicted to it (and still I am I impatiently wait for the next episode!). This has in part or thoroughly influenced my POV and my final judgement. In fact, when I eventually decided to read the books I got disappointed. I usu [...]

    22. FOR DARK REUNIONOkay so we left off with Elena dieing. So Elena is really dead and everyone is sad and we're sort of reading a bit from Bonnie's perspective. Bonnie begins to have these weird dreams about Elena, almost nightmares, but in the dreams, Elena is trying to tell her something. Finally she realizes the first thing Elena wants her to do is a summoning spell. She has to summon Stefan- he has left town and gone back to Italy. She, Matt and Merideth all go back to the church underground fo [...]

    23. **Please keep in mind that I write these reviews assuming you have read the other books in the series. In my summaries I pretty much sum part of the story up, which may contain spoilers to past books.**It's been about six months after Elena's death and both Stefan and Damon have left Fell's Church. The town is slowly returning to normal. And although both Bonnie and Meredith miss Elena terribly, they have to move on. At a surprise party for Meredith's 18th birthday, the girls decide to try to co [...]

    24. Oh. My. God. That. Was. The. Stupidest. Ending. Ever. Written. Can you believe this?! All happy and together again, and poor Damon left alone. Again. I wanted to throw up after reading this. They're all like "Oh, Damon, you're not much different from us. Please stay." and when he turns around and go, they all stay celebrating like nothing ever happened. Kill me now!Don't even get me started on Bonnie. After Elena died, the book was in her POV and all of a sudden, every boy wants her. Even Damon l [...]

    25. his book is told from Bonnie's point of view. The fourth book begins six months after Elena's death, At a surprise birthday party for Meredith, Bonnie and Caroline (along with Vickie and Sue Carson) contact Elena using a Ouija board. Elena warns them there is another evil in town, and that they are all in danger. She tells them they need to summon someone but gets interrupted, presumably by the evil spirit, before telling the girls to run. Before all of the girls can get out of the house, Sue Ca [...]

    26. I think if one wanted to read a Vampire Diaries book, then Dark Reunion would be a good one. Even though it's the fourth book, it wasn't confusing to read. There is also a lot of recap explanations of the previous 3 books. The Reunion, also known as Dark Reunion, is the fourth book in the Vampire Diaries series by L. J. Smith. This series has a TV series of the same name adapted from it, however the book and TV show contrast quite a lot. I started reading this series after watching the TV show an [...]

    27. I have complained about Elena countless times, about her shallow personality, her whining voice, her stupid let's-not-ask-for-help attitude Now I found out, The Vampire Diaries without Elena is even worse. We now follow the story along from Bonnie's point of view. We never saw that much from her as a person in the other books. As it turns out, this was for good reason. Bonnie is just a bit of a boring character. She is a support character, a secondary. She is not a main. She has not enough depth, [...]
