    1. I had the pleasure of meeting both Jane Pavitt and Glenn Adamson (curators at the V&A) and seeing the exhibition during the course of my degree. This volume gives due consideration to the much-beloved and/or much-mocked designs produced on both sides of the Iron Curtain and in the United States during the Cold War. Ranging from architecture to film and fashion, Cold War Modern gives insight into how we attempted to design the present and future through politics and objects.

    2. Fascinating survey, and while the historical content was excellent, the analysis and other discussion tended to be too insider and academic for a book of this nature. Ended up skimming to avoid the meta-analytic bumf. The photographs and the text to accompany them is excellent, however.
