    1. This debut novel by Douglas Sander came as a surprise to me. It started out rather slow . my first impression was a very sad man married to a shrew who did nothing but whine and complain and expect her husband to do everything. So my first thought was he is going to kill her. When John Miller decides to take a weekend away from the shrew and the monotony of the job, he first has to put up with the wife's complaints. For a change, he doesn't let her conniving ways stop him.I was still a little p [...]

    2. "I received digital copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review"It was a long time ago when I received an e-mail with a book and herby I apologize for taking me so long to read it and review it.Bad Memories starts a bit slow with a peculiar vibe. John Miller is a doctor who worked at the asylum and is married to a terrible woman. I was sure she is one of the bodies that are mentioned in the prologue. Is it or is not you’ll find out if you read this book. No spoilers.John [...]

    3. A good look at Douglas Sandler’s Bad Memories (2015) reveals the writing requires a fair bit of editing. However, the story quickly establishes John Miller as an intriguing protagonist. Miller operates a “pill machine” — a gadget that stamps medical tablets one at a time. It is from such a robotic, repetitive and exhausting work routine that Miller steps into a mystery, an echo from his past working at an asylum.Having left his dominating wife Julie at home, Miller intends to go on a fis [...]

    4. Reviewed by Sarah Stuart for Readers' Favorite Bad Memories by Douglas Sandler is John Miller’s story and his memories are of death on a cataclysmic scale. Working as a doctor in an asylum he was held responsible for mistakes that resulted in the deaths of many inmates. The story is told from John’s point of view, brilliantly narrated by Graham King, so the listener feels that John himself speaks. He opens in the present, working at a mind-numbingly boring job and living with a wife who rega [...]

    5. If you like mystery and thriller novels you will definitely love this book. I’m so happy I've had an opportunity to read this book. The story line is unique and became more mysterious and suspenseful the more I read. The characters are multi-dimensional. Once I got into it, I did not want to put it down!

    6. Actually I wasn't READING this book - I listened & it's great - worth every penny - GREAT story AND my flat is clean, except for the floor. - The vac's noisy. Try it - you'll be hooked - PROMISE!!!

    9. The whole introduction to the novel gave me eerie vibes from the gecko because you couldn’t really get an entire sense of what was going on, and whether you can trust the main character Dr. John Miller. His relations to the people around him, was slightly blurred as well, but I believe the author intentionally did this. As you read on, things start to become a little clearer and slowly unfold, but at the same time suspense grows as more elements are added to the plot. I love unique writing sty [...]

    10. An interesting and suspenseful story with memorable characters and An intriguing plot. This story is one of mystery and nightmares. In Millersburg, things are beginning to give the impression that there is something off. The main Character John Miller, will find himself drowning in the problems and death. The death ignites dreams and enflames a series of bad memories. You will find some errors that are distracting, but overall the story is an enjoyable one.

    11. First of all, this was an audio book for me and I love audio book just as much as books I can read and touch. I was like most kids who loved my mom or dad to read to me. For me, audio books bring this memory back. This book was interesting and the sadness of losing a friend I felt with John. The narration for me was a bit hard to follow. It was not changing in pitch much from one character to another and I like that when I am read a story. It makes it more fun to listen to. "This book was given [...]
