    1. 1/5 starsI am honestly so annoyed with this book, I went into this looking for a little bit of hilarious fantasy romance, something I've been addicted to for the last month and came out throughly pissed the fuck off.First of all, the book centred around Vicky, who after her husband dies, decides to go on an arctic circle expedition and there begins her many idiotic decisions.I am all for self-discovery and solo adventures but Vicky, as a woman in her late twenties seems to hold the same level of [...]

    2. "I can’t give you what you need.” "And what do you think I need?”“A relationship. A home. A life without chaos.”“I’m not asking for those. I just want to feel close to someone.”“And you’re choosing me?” An incredulous note crept into his reply. “I know it’s crazy. I barely know you, and we’re such opposites, but…” She trailed off, suddenly hesitant about revealing so much to him. “But?” he queried softly."She let out a soft sigh. “When I’m around you, you [...]

    3. So this is billed as the anti-hero romance. I disagree, he is flawed but by no means the opposite of a hero. He will deny being a good guy, but actions do not lie.First, a bit of annoyance, I read this immediately after the last book that had a line about Gene trying to avoid a human trying to tag his bear. However, this book starts with them not knowing each other. It is a small constancy thing that annoyed me greatly.Gene is all gruff and grumpy damaged bear. Sigh, yeah he had me at hello! I d [...]

    4. Langlais has a way of making me laugh while also leaving me all hot & bothered. Her vibrant descriptions not only set the scene, but also drew me in, making me feel as if I were part of the story rather than simply reading it. The fast paced & exciting plot kept me on my toes. I loved the plot twists that kept the suspense rolling. At the same time, the romance and heat that this couple has were off the charts. I enjoyed the concept of a multi species clan. It allows for a much more vari [...]

    5. 4.5 Stars! "Polar Bared" Kodiak Point #3 by Eve Langlais is the third book in this series. Here we have a sweet love story, one I was so excited to read. This one is about a revenge seeking polar bear shifter, Gene and the adorable, geeky, curvy human woman he can't seem to get away from. A perfect example of "opposites attract."Without giving too much away , I need to say Gene was set on a journey of revenge, not caring who was in the path to it. We meet Gene for the first time in "Kodiak's Cla [...]

    6. Gene blames his friends for leaving him behind in battle and a mysterious figure only referred to as him has fueled his hate. So far, he’s tried to hurt his friends and in return they offer forgiveness. A fight Gene can handle but the emotions and doubt running through his mind is too much so he distracts himself by helping the nerdy and deliciously curvaceous Vicky. She’s visiting the freezing north hoping to take photos and study the beautiful polar bears. Little does she know one just sav [...]

    7. In Polar Bared, the overall plot thickens and I came to appreciate a character I thought was pure evil while also falling for Vicky, even if she fainted when she should have fought ;)This and all my other reviews are originally posted on my blog(un)Conventional Bookvies

    8. This paranormal romance had a decent plot and I liked the characters but half the book was the main characters negative ruminating. About midway through I started skimming just reading dialogue and action which was good. Exploring in the arctic, Vicky slips into a polar bear. Gene is focusing on vengeance and doesn't have time to help a human in trouble.

    9. omg hahaha I loved this. Song Choice: "You're The One that I want" by Lo-Fang, "Two Tweeks" by Grizzly Bear (oh yeah i went there) First thoughts: I thought this was mind-blowingly awesome, this is what I have been searching for! Yes!!! A paranormal romance read with equal amounts of action, adventure and all around good times, equal parts sexy, sweet, and just *swoon* So I should state that I totally cheated. I was so intrigued by this "anti-hero" title the book had on amazon so I was like i se [...]

    10. 4.5 starsMy review and an extended sample of the audiobook are posted at Hotlistens. This was yet another great book in the Kodiak Point series. Once again, like the previous books in this series, I’ve already read this book before venturing into the audio. I found that I enjoyed Gene and Vicky’s story even more the second time around. We have already met Gene in the previous two books. He has not been a very nice guy. He has terrorized Kodiak Point throughout the first two books, but he hasn [...]

    11. HA! Oh, man, I love Eve Langlais's slightly (sometimes more than) surly heroes and the woman who find them charming in their growly ways.Gene is well, he's a little on edge. Rightly so, I'd say. He's not the nicest guy and he's done some not so great things in the past to his former military buddies and their lady friends. He sees himself as someone who can't be redeemed and he acts accordingly.Good thing Vicky tumbles into his life to show him the error of his ways. And by that, I mean she trus [...]

    12. Sadly, I didn't like this one. Vicky wasn't a character that I could relate to - at all. When she got scared, she'd faint. Um, what? I found that to be a stupid and weird characteristic. She also wasn't the smartest either (and I'm not a fan of idiots). Gene was ok, I guess. Nothing new with him wanting to be with Vicky but refusing to at first - you know, to keep her from danger (the same way so many alpha male characters behave). I also guessed, perfectly spot on, of who was gunning for Vicky. [...]

    13. Ever since the first book in this series, I was excited to hear things from Gene’s POV. It’s so interesting to start him off as the villain, and what we saw of him in the second book just added to my curiosity. I loved this story and I loved how Langlais able to bend Gene’s character and make the reader feel for him. It helped immensely that Vicky was such a loveable character. She was an accident prone klutz and constantly found herself needing to be saved, but along the way she grew as a [...]

    14. Gene and Vicky's book wasn't as good as the other's in the series, there wasn't as much humour or there wasn't for me and it was a bit predictable with who was trying to kill Vicky.

    15. In general for all of Langlais' books: These are light and fluffy, funny and sexy, and easy, quick reads. Great poolside or beach reads, or when your brain is overwhelmed by RL. My only peeve (and this may just be because I binged her books) is that she constantly uses "portal" when she means "door" or "doorway". The books could use one last round of editing, but the errors are minor and don't take away from the enjoyment of reading them.

    16. I wish the series were just a trilogy. I liked the characters in this one, but am finding the dialog a little redundant. I'll take a break before continuing the series to find out who the bad guy is.

    17. What a Fun ReadPolar Bared Book #3 (Kodiak Point) Eve LanglaisWow I was glad to read some of the reviews that mentioned it being a fun read. So I wasn’t the only one who thought this was cute in its own way and fun. I have to admit in some of the parts I actually was giggling out loud. I was hoping we would see the vengeance bent Gene turn himself around. He suffered from PTSD, was a loner and was lonely (whether he’d admit it or not) his heart and soul were broken/hurt because he felt he wa [...]

    18. Review orginally posted at RabidReads. Polar Bared is book three in a humorous paranormal romance shifter series by Canadian author Eve Langlais.  In this book, we have an anti-hero Gene, a polar bear and former military guy suffering from PTSD.  He blames his military unit for his capture and inability to rescue him.  He is set on vengeance.Vicky is a heavier woman who had recently lost her husband.  She is independently wealthy, so she doesn't really need to work.  She decides to go do re [...]

    19. Gene, the villain in earlier books, gets a chance to get the girl, in this case - Vicky, a nerdy girl on a research trip to the Arctic to see some polars. The Good, The Bad and Everything In Between-Best book of the series: I’ve had issues with the earlier two books because of insta-love and such, and I honestly wondered at myself for pre-ordering this. But I’m glad I did. This book let the romance build, AND was as funny if not funnier than the earlier books. I really enjoyed it. The love sc [...]

    20. Eve Langlais is one of my go to authors for shifter books, especially ones that have humor. Polar Bared has Gene (the bad guy for the first few books in the series) meeting Vicki while she is on the look-out for polar bears. A mystery is afoot, and someone is probably trying to kill both Gene and Vicki. Gene considers himself a villain, but Vicki just doesn't view him the same way. They are a cute couple, both with their own issues, but stronger when they get together.+humor+alpha hottie+sexines [...]

    21. I really enjoyed this one. The idea of the villain turning into the bad guy is one that I don't see explored enough, or maybe I'm just missing them all. I loved that Gene was a total grump for the most part throughout the story, and that even though Vicki fainted a lot, her first reaction to learning Gene was a polar bear shifter was to throw her arms around his neck and hug him like she just saw a Unicorn for the first time and was told she could keep it. That was funny.I really need to read th [...]

    22. I am definitely a Gene fan after this story. He was already looking for his friends without knowing. All his actions showed care and a gentle heart. He made the whole story/ book for me without much help from his PIMA. Her character didn't impress me as the others but hey, could have been worse for Gene.I am more intrigued by the was plot is shaping and I am looking forward to finding out who the villain is.

    23. Could not put this book down. Love it from when i pick it up to i put it down.I was so Happy that he got his happy ending and she gotten fiesty. Can't wait to see who the bad guy is.

    24. Highly recommend this book. I will be eagerly awaiting the next one in the series. Which hopefully will be December.

    25. 2 sets of villainswoman in jeopardy saved by the likeliest of heroes. lots of laughs, lots of sex.erious Mr. Evil tries to kill Gene who makes up with his buddies to save his mate.

    26. What Is It About:After the events of the previous book, Gene ran straight into the wilderness so that he can stay as a polar bear and be alone with his thoughts until he figures out what to do next. Unfortunately, he isn't alone because Vicky and her camp are exploring. Vicky's aim is to gain information about polar bears in the wild for her degree. After saving her life numerous times, Gene can't deny that he has feelings for her but he isn't meant to be with someone so he plans to just make he [...]

    27. Too much narration and not enough dialogue, especially since I'm supposed to believe that these two characters fell in love with one another. This could have been so much more. We have a woman who has dealt with abuse from her deceased spouse and father, plus a man who suffers from PTSD. That in itself should have made for a better plot point, but no. Sorry, this just didn't do it for me. Still, there were some points in the story that I liked, mainly the parts when the met up with the gang from [...]

    28. Polar Bared (Kodiak Point Book 3)The love story of Victoria and Gene. Gene is a loner, villain, hero, and suffer from PSD. Victoria is a woman who has bad luck, she was drugged, almost kill in a car crash, and almost death in a carbon monoxide and now someone is shooting at her. Can Gene save her and not fall in love with her or will love win? Great story.
