    2. I didn't know this was a kid's book when I first got it (not YA, but actual children's lit), but I decided to read it anyway since it's so short and since I've liked all of Gavalda's other stuff.95 Pounds of Hope is a sweet story about a boy, Gregory, who has never done well in school and prefers to spend his time designing and making things. After being held back in school twice and then expelled, his parents and grandparents get more and more exasperated and plan to ship him off to boarding sc [...]

    13. I think the book was funny at some points and really down on other points, but otherwise the book was really good. I recommend the book to middle school kids and anyone who doesn't enjoy school haha. The book is cool!

    15. man ļoti patīk Annas Gavaldas grāmatas. es tās lasu pa vienai, ar pauzēm, lai gan lasās ļoti ātri. lai gan Kindle ir vairākas nelasītas. es tās taupu. man šķiet, viņa ir Kārļa Skalbes rakstnieka reinkarnācija. viņiem ir kopēja prasme stāstīt par gaišām skumjām. tikai Anna Gavalda prot to darīt tā, ka skumjas ne vien attīra, bet arī apsola labāku pasauli.šī bija grāmata par puisīti, kuram riebās skola, jo tur bija garlaicīgi. tās beigās lasītājs saņēma sol [...]

    17. "35 kilos d'espoir" - 35 kilos of hope - that's Grégoire Dubosc, a 13-year-old who absolutely hates school. He's incredibly talented with his hands, at building things, doing handicraft work, DIY. He's creative, too and he'd like to be an inventor. But everybody keeps telling him he has to do better in school. He keeps getting kicked out of schools and being left on the shelf. The only person who seems to believe in him is his grandfather, but the latter gets seriously illIt's probably for readi [...]

    18. I read this with my 11-12 years olds in German class and the kids HATED it. They thought it was boring and the language was a bit too explicit for them (I had to giggle when they told me so). Personally, I thought it was not bad, it has a lot of potential, especially as a classreader in school, but it came a bit too short. My students also remarked, that at some passages in the book could have been narrated in more detailed, so that more excitement can come up - especially when it leads to the f [...]

    19. Overall this book was a bit boring and had a slow beginning but it got a little bit better. A boy absolutely hates school, he does not do any of his work and does not care. He eventually got expelled. He then spends his days in the tool shed with his grandpa. His parents then send him off to boarding school for a new start. Read this book to find out how it goes for him.

    20. I found Gregory to be a bit annoying, but this little novel definitely has its moments. Quick read, could be good for all the boys and girls who are bored to bits/feel absolutely useless at school. I guess I just don't get what the fuss is about Anna Gavalda, even if I enjoyed this more than Ensemble (first of all cos it's shorter and I deal better with clichéd children than adults)

    21. I read this book in a hour!! very captivating, moving and unexpected!I gave to my 8 years old boy to read and he loved it!

    22. I thought this had great potential. There's a real need for books about kids whose intelligence lies in their hands rather than their brains. But I didn't like the payoff.

    24. So, this was another one of those I was forced to read for school. And it showed. I mean, due to the fact that we had to read it in French class, it was definitely inevitable that we were given childrens literature to not overwhelm us with new vocabulary to learn However, the story was not that interesting since other books and movies did it way better, likeA Monster Calls or similar stuff that maybe is a bit less fantasy-ish. Anyways, this book was not terrible, but defintely not really somethi [...]
