    1. This series truly changed the way I looked at Mother/Daughter relationships including my own. I got so angry, I cried. I got so inspired, I cried again. Loved it

    2. Loved, but was many times disturbed by what I read in these stories. At times it felt way too close to my own story. It made me realize that mother/daughter relationships are complicated in every home. Learning to speak truth and be open is something we appreciate in our generation but it was not always appreciated in the past. Remembering that our mothers, grandmothers, great-grandmothers were once little girls, had lives, hurts, hopes, etc. helps bring them down from the pedestal of motherhood [...]

    3. I loved this series. My friend form work lent me these books and I could not put them down. Her Mother's Dream I read in about a day and a half. It is about a life of 4 women who were daughter and mothers of one another. It is very uplifting and it showed how God's grace and love prevailed through this book. It was uplifting and sad. No matter the struggles that each women went through the Lord was in the situation. He taught them how to love and discovered just how much they were loved even tho [...]

    4. I could not put these books down. At times, the four generational story seemed a little overwhelming and I had to keep checking to make sure I knew which character was which. It was captivating and the ending pulled all 4 generations together very well. A great story with a great message on many different levels.

    5. An intriguing series that takes the reader through a century of relationships between mother and daughter. While reading, I found myself thinking "well, if they had just talked about it they wouldn't have been in this situation!", however, upon further reflection I found such similarity in our own lives, as women. Often we conceal our inner most feelings about the other, when if we would just openly communicate with each other relationships would be so much more rich and less hurtful. Francine R [...]

    6. As usual I love Francine Rivers books. And this series didn't let me down. They are two books about four generations of women who raise their daughters differently than their mother raised them. They all try to do their best for the character of each daughter. I really enjoyed reading these stories and their rationalities for all of their actions. I also enjoyed the synopsis at the end of each book and the questions to ponder after the ends. Every person is different and requires different actio [...]

    7. An engaging series that drew me right along. I kept reading, asking, "What's going to happen next?" Each of the main characters had their hopes and dreams, their challenges, and their losses. There were no 'perfect' characters. I loved that each character was shaped and molded so that you could empathize with their choices even if you didn't agree with them. After finishing the first book, Her Mother's Hope, I couldn't wait to read Her Daughter's Dream! It was good, but not great. I enjoyed the f [...]

    8. The books Her Mother's Hope and Her Daughter's Dream cover so many issues such as martial problems, dealing with abuse, suicide, drug addictions, and mom and daughter relationships. Her Daughter's Dream deals with bridging the gap in a family of four generations of women to find healing and restoration for their relationships with each other. I could not put the book down and it kept me wanting to know what will happen next in their family and what will the consequences of each of their decision [...]

    9. These novels follow a generation of four women, each of whom has difficulties relating to their mothers. Told from multiple perspectives, the books span over a century of history as the great-grandmother moves from Switzerland to England to Canada and then America. While this wasn't my all-time favorite book, it was the first book in quite some time that I was anxious to read and struggled to put down.

    10. I read both books in this series and have to admit that the first was easy to get through, but the 2nd was a struggle because of personal things that have happened in my own personal life. The books are about 4 women: Marta, Hildemara, Carolyn and May Flower Dawn. It is a story of how one can pass on baggage from one generation to the next with out really realizing it and what it takes to break the cycle. This is a book about grace, forgiveness and love. Well, worth the read.

    11. Both really good books, I enjoyed the stories of each of these women through the generations. They are stories of mother/daughter relationships broken and restored by faith and through time and life changing events. Each story was written and detailed so you could really understand the actions and thoughts of every character. I think this is why I enjoy Francine's books so much, she really takes the time to describe her characters well.

    12. I really enjoyed reading this series by Francine Rivers. I was surprised by some of the situations that they had to deal with. The author keeps the characters real to life. I didn't give these books five stars because I don't believe they are the best books from this author. If you haven't discovered her, I would like to suggest that you pick up a couple of her older books in addition to her newer releases. Redeeming Love is my favorite, but the Mark of the Lion triology is also excellent.

    13. Excellent. I haven't read many books that touch on mother-daughter relationships, and this one's looking at 4 generations of mothers/daughters. Francince Rivers is a remarkable story-teller, but also touches deep and important aspects of the relationships we are to treasure most. All that to say, that this one was another favourite!

    14. Delving deep into why people do what they do and being a 'fly on the wall' of the human experience was enlightening. The cause and effect of love from a broken person can result in more scars than healing if we don't manage our relationships. Warning, you'll most likely cry and walk away looking at your mom in a new way; a more grace-filled way.

    15. This is a set of books that chronicle the lives of one woman, her successive generations, and their interpersonal relationships. It really provokes thought as to how words and actions are so easily misunderstood. This was a great story, however I doubt that lack of communication could stretch over four generations of women.

    16. The cause and effect of ones words when misinterpretation from three generations of Mothers and Daughters. Wow! Makes me want to explain to my kids why I say the things I say. Break down the barriers of fear and misguided actions with love.

    17. This is a great book! Full of history and covers at least 3 generations of a family and their relationship with one another and their walk with the Lord. Has a very nice balance and is not predictable as to what is going to happen. I have thoroughly enjoyed them!

    18. I liked this book better than the first one in this series. It got depressing after awhile with all the misunderstandings between the mothers and daughters. This book brought everything together really well tho and I loved how it all ended.

    19. This was a really good two book series's. I liked that she closed up all the questions about the family so you closed the book feeling like you knew the whole story and why things happened the way they did.

    20. I really enjoyed these books. They pieced together mother/daughter relationships, showing how the choices we make in our mothering come from how we might have been raised, and how that affects the next generations. I found it very insightful.

    21. Read both books in immediate succession. A story of three women, grandmother, mother and daughter and the challenges they face in life, relationships and in following their faith. It's a beautiful story of loss and redemption, of misunderstanding, forgiveness and love.

    22. I love Francine Rivers. That being said, I tried to read this set of books twice. The first time it grated on me so a couple years later I re-read it. It was flat and depressing with none of the depth of her other books.

    23. Mothersthe relationship of these mothers was very similar. Dawn finally saw was happening generation after generation and found a way to build a bridge of connection. She knew that they all loved each other but didn't know how to show it. Good story.

    24. I think this books series appealed to me most because it mirrored my own family's history a bit, as my great grandmother emigrated from Germany. Also, it helped me consider how misunderstandings and family history can impact the relationships between mothers and daughters.

    25. This series made me mad, sad, and feel tons of other emotions while reading it.a well-written and heartfelt collection of books!

    26. Great stories about mother daughter relationships over 4 generations starting with a brave young woman immigrating to Canada and then the US

    27. This two-part series started off a little slow for me, but once I was in and I could see the bigger picture the more absorbed I became.
